Bay state’s boom based in tax breaks – Entertainment News, Scout & About, Media – Variety.

NeHollywood.com   What an awesome article, and it just goes to show that New England is highly film friendly,no matter how you slice it,dice it or slap it with a coat of glitter gold paint,Hollywood is here to stay in New England. Big plans are in store for Hollywood in New England such as the big Film Studio underway at Ft.Devens and how bout some of the great casting companies in Mass such as South Shore Casting with Jodi Purdy Quinlan,Casting Director, who wrangled the extras for Here Comes the Boom, and other great films and of course shorts and the most recent Red Sox Commercial, then We have Sande Alessi Casting of Boston, who just handled all the casting for GrownUps2 on the North Shore of Mass, All great films, all great casting companies, simply put. LDI casting of Rhode Island is handling the casting for Makeover, shooting in Boston this Fall, Sande Alessi Casting is once again handling a big film on the North Shore, The Larry David Untitled project. Let me not forget the other most recent films shot in Mass, The Way Way Back with Steve Carell on the South Shore in Marshfield and Wareham and Labor Day with Kate Winslet and Josh Brolan in Western Mass. I just saw the trailer for the House Across the Street on TV this afternoon starring Eric Roberts,Julia Roberts brother, very cool stuff as well. Here Comes the Boom comes out next month,October 12th. To those who keep the film tax credits in Mass, such as Chuck Slavin, who has done an amazing job in working on those vital film needs,You must do your very best to make sure these credits remain in place for Mass,Its vital for the ever growing film industry in Mass. New Hampshire and Maine need to step up to the plate and offer the same film tax credits. Towns on the North Shore were on the receiving end of some big bucks, like in the sum of 4 million plus from the GrownUps2 shoot, its a win win situation for all,so the next time a big film production rolls into your town, don’t start with the poor me stuff as to tying up traffic or closing off streets or the noise it may cause, please remember one hand washes the other here when a big film production comes into town..because its all bout the screen time, its all bout the money, the jobs for local background, town services that reap the bucks. We all benefit folks.
