Our opponents are at it again. Last week Governor Baker filed a new bill, H. 3978, which would cripple the film & TV production incentive in Massachusetts.
H. 3978 rolls back the incentive in several ways, but the most dangerous is placing a cap on the value of the credit that any one production can get. Films such as Joy, the Judge, American Hustle, The Finest Hours, Ghostbusters and many others would not have come to Massachusetts under this bill.
Last year was one of the best ever for film and television production in Massachusetts, but the Governor’s bill would cripple this strong and growing industry and send these good-paying local jobs to competing states, and Massachusetts families would be forced to follow.
The film and TV incentive has made Massachusetts a leading film-making destination, supporting thousands of local families and creating a local industry that helps countless small businesses in cities and towns all across this state.
Please use the link below to send a message NOW to your State Legislators to tell them to Oppose H. 3978.
