Should Hingham be a film-friendly town? – Hingham, Massachusetts – The Hingham Journal.
My take two on this story….I grew up in Hingham and its a gorgeous town that is placed on the South Shore of Massachusetts. It would clearly be a great backdrop for a major film and or films and Television. Its known now that Massachusetts has reached the Hollywood level that has not been seen before, this of course includes the Massachusetts Film Tax credits that lures Hollywood to Mass. Several Films are being made in Mass at this time, the most locally Hollywood made film right now will be The Way Way Back movie to be made in Marshfield with hometown actor Steve Carell. Filming starts July 9th.The last big film which was an independent was Sunny Side Up with Parker Posey in Scituate,Hingham and Cohasset in 2011. Other big films made were Witches oHf Eastwick,House Sitter,The Departed in Quincy,The Box. I would invite all of the Hollywood Film Producers to Hingham for a day long walking tour of Hingham, and tell em this what Hingham has to offer and please bring your porjects back to Hingham. We all know that the fishing boat,Orcca, for the Movie Jaws came from Hingham. I know I am leaving out other notable films or folks who reside in Hingham that are involved in the Film industry,Its friday, but I am very pleased to know that Hingham is finally reaching out to Hollywood and saying Hey We have the welcome matt out for you!
