My quick view on this folks…Any New England State that does not take advantage of the Tax Film Credit to bring the big movies to New England are just crazy. The only state that I know that does not take advantage of this credit is Maine, yeah the State that I live in. Since I moved here last June,I have yet seen a big Hollywood production set up shop here in Maine. Most and all of the big pictures have been shot in Mass,or Conn and Rhode Island. I realize that We are dealing with a dysfunctional Governor here in Maine, but he is loosing out on the big revenue these movies bring everytime they roll into town. The Hotels, food, the local talent,Police,Fire, rental of properties, parks and other needs. Big picture companies can simply go elsewhere to shoot a movie instead of New England,So We need to be smart about this and allow each State to provide the tax credits to Hollywood when they come knocking on New England’s door to make another movie. One hand washes the other..We all benefit. I urge the State of Rhode Island and Mass and Maine and New Hampshire to keep the door open to Hollywood with the tax credits, and We will keep paying Our bills with the revenue the Movie companies bring in. New England is beautiful and New England will continue to be shown on the Silver screen.Do what is right!
